In celebration of Ken Burns’ upcoming Country Music PBS documentary, join Joni Deutsch (host of WFAE’s award-winning Amplifier podcast) for free lunch time concerts at the Plaza at Spirit Square the week of August 19th, 2019.
Spirit Square is at 345 N. College Street.
The concerts, in partnership with Blumenthal Performing Arts, will feature live performances from some of the best country artists from the Charlotte-area:
- Monday, August 19: David Childers
- Tuesday, August 20: Caroline Keller Band
- Wednesday, August 21: Ryan Trotti
- Thursday, August 22: Featherpocket
- Friday, August 23: Kelsey Ryan
Each performance starts at noon and lasts until 1 p.m. Bring a friend, bring a lunch, and enjoy live (and free) music.
While you’re at it, make sure to mark your calendars for September 4th, 2019, when WFAE and Deutsch will be hosting the Ken Burns Country Music Documentary Preview at the U.S. National Whitewater Center, 5000 Whitewater Center Parkway.
This free event will feature a live taping of the #WFAEAmplifier podcast with Charlotte country musician Bill Noonan and country music historian Tom Hanchett.
It will be taking place from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Parking at the U.S. National Whitewater Center is $6.
