The contest has ended and I’ve emailed the winners their tickets. The winners are Geri, Steven Dobbs, Shaunta S., and Lareine. Congratulations! Everyone else, please go to Carolina Jubilee and buy tickets for this great event! If you like music and you care about food, Carolina Jubilee is a festival you won’t want to miss. It’s a two-day festival that takes place Friday, September 30th, and Saturday, October 1st, in Harmony, which is just an hour north of Charlotte. Over those two days, 22 bands will be performing. Almost all the artists are based in the Carolinas, including several from the Charlotte area. The Carolina focus is intentional. This is a festival to celebrate and support Carolinians, in particular farmers. The festival raises money for Carolina Farm Trust, which has a mission of protecting farm land and fostering an ecosystem of sustainable farming in North and South Carolina. The specific goal this year is to raise money to provide Mary L. Farm, an organic dairy farm, with a pasteurization system.
Heirloom Restaurant, a North Carolina farm-to-table restaurant that features local vegetables, fruit, seafood, meat and beverages will provide food for the event, and local Carolina purveyors will provide beer, wine and cocktails. King of Pops will be there too!
Bring the kids! Discovery Place Kids will be on hand to provide activities for them.
Four Charlotte on the Cheap readers will each win two tickets to the festival. The tickets will be good for both days. For a chance to win, just leave a comment on this post. The winners will be randomly selected Thursday, September 22nd, and the tickets will be emailed to you.
Here’s the musical lineup. Follow the links for more information on each artist.
