World-class acts, top notch beer and philanthropic fun – get ready because New Belgium Brewing’s “Fat Tire presents the Tour de Fat” is coming to Charlotte on Saturday, May 27. This year’s tour is the biggest and boldest yet, traveling to 33 cities.
A Thousand Horses, dubbed “Country’s coolest band” by Rolling Stone Country, will headline the Charlotte show. The band, who made history for the highest debut of a new artist with its hit song, Smoke, mixes southern rock with contemporary country and rowdy jams.
Tour de Fat revelers are encouraged to wear costumes and everyone 21 and older will be able to enjoy some of the American craft beer icon’s year-round line-up including New Belgium’s flagship beer, Fat Tire, Voodoo Ranger 8 Hop pale ale, bohemian style Pilsener and Citradelic tangerine IPA.
Since 2000, Tour de Fat has raised close to $5 million for non-profit partners and hopes to generate more than $600,000 in support of local causes this year. Proceeds from the Charlotte stop will benefit BikeWalk NC, an advocacy organization promoting non-motorized transportation choices for residents and visitors of North Carolina.
