The Harvey B. Gantt Center for African-American Arts + Culture is offering a workshop, Digital Beats + Rhymes: An Interactive Experience, on Saturday, July 7th, 2018, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The cost is $5 for youth, $10 for adults (18+) and $5 for members.

Find out how in this informative presentation from local DJs, poets and hip hop artists. Learn how performing artists leverage tech to create and share their art and how tech firms create platforms for artists.

2:50 PM – 4:00 PM — Hands-On Mini Workshops
Now it’s your turn to jump into the driver’s seat! Take a test ride on DJ equipment while you learn the basic principles behind the art form; explore the software used to create Disctopia’s site with its creator and hear from artists who use the platform and ignite your creativity in a writing lab with artists Jeffery Weatherford and T. Walker while creating raps and poems.
